Gazi University, Education Policies Application and Research Center (Gazi-EPAR), in the first half of January 2024, evaluated the activities carried out in the previous year during assessment meetings and made arrangements and updates for the activities to be carried out in 2024. In this context, the confidence in the historical, quantitative, and qualitative accumulation of Gazi Faculty of Education was confirmed.
Gazi-EPAR decided to carry out all its activities in the context of a quality cycle in 2024 and beyond. In this context, task distribution was made among the center's employees.
As part of its activities, Gazi-EPAR, which first identified its internal and external stakeholders, included the Turkish Education Association's think tank TEDMEM, which operates in similar fields in the same city, among its most important external stakeholders.
In this context, the first external stakeholder meeting with TEDMEM was held. Representing our University, Prof. Dr. Bilal GÜNEŞ, the Director of Gazi-EPAR, as well as Deputy Director Dr. Volkan DAMLI and Research Assistant Ceren ERSOY attended the meeting; representing TEDMEM, Director Dr. Sabiha SUNAR, along with Coordinator Nilgün DEMİRCİ CELEP and Specialist Okan KURT participated.
In the highly beneficial meeting, a sharing of ideas was made on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions and on joint work that could be done on education policies.
Prof. Dr. Bilal GÜNEŞ, the Director of Gazi University Education Policies Application and Research Center, emphasized the importance of this meeting in determining the steps to be taken in the context of education policies and strengthening research in this field. GÜNEŞ, after emphasizing the importance of TEDMEM's work and the contributions of Gazi University and Gazi Faculty of Education to education policies in the past and present, highlighted the importance of mutual experience and knowledge sharing, especially in the development and implementation of education policies in our country and the world.
TEDMEM Director Dr. Sabiha SUNAR expressed her satisfaction with the meeting, emphasizing the importance of collaborations in the field of education and stating that such meetings play an important role in shaping education policies. Dr. Sunar expressed her belief that the collaboration between Gazi-EPAR and TEDMEM will contribute to the more effective development and implementation of education policies.
Representatives of both institutions agreed at the end of the meeting to work on joint projects aimed at improving education policies. It was confirmed that this collaboration is an important step towards strengthening the education system in Turkey and establishing education policies on a data-driven and more scientific basis.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Bilal GÜNEŞ, the Director of Gazi-EPAR, thanked Dr. Sabiha SUNAR for their kind hospitality and presented her with a certificate for a tree planted in her name as part of our University's afforestation efforts.
